Leather harness materials, in plain terms

The leather is Italian, vegetable-tanned, and certified - tanned with plant extracts rather than chrome, which is why it ages into a patina instead of cracking. The hardware is Italian too: solid buckles and rings chosen to outlast the leather, available in gold or silver tone. We color the hide with Fenice dyes, an Italian leather finish that holds its color and doesn't rub off with wear.

One detail you won't see in a photo but will feel: every cut edge is rounded and burnished by hand, then sealed and painted. Raw leather edges scratch - ours don't.
